The Department of Architecture at Iowa State University invites applications for a Lab Coordinator, to support the growth and development of the ISU Computation + Construction Lab (CCL) which is an initiative that combines research, teaching, and outreach. The CCL houses digital fabrication equipment and design/build tools.
Primary responsibilities include: assisting with the day-to-day operations of the Lab, overseeing student employment, performing maintenance and repairing equipment, inventorying and purchasing tools and material, overseeing lab safety and certification, and holding training sessions for students and faculty, as required.
In addition, the coordinator will aid in the development of their research portfolio and that of the Lab.

The successful candidate will possess knowledge of machine vendors and replacement parts; general maintenance; familiarity with woodworking tools and safety regulations in a digital fabrication environment. In addition, the candidate will have the ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students in the development of the CCL.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and 1 year of related experience.
Preferred Education and Experience:
-Master of Architecture or a Master of Science in a related design field such as industrial design, digital fabrication or computational design; -Experience with manufacturing/fabrication processes; -Experience with design-build or full-scale installation projects; -Experience with 3D modeling software or computational design; -Experience with management and administration; -Experience supervising and instructing students; -Holds or ability to obtain a valid US Driver's License.
