Where the Chemistry Happens
We are seeking a professional like you to maintain and grow profitable sales growth in a $10M-$20M sales territory within BASF's Human Nutrition business. The position can be based in either Chicago, Atlanta or Florham Park, NJ, as the territory has customers located in the Southeast, Midwest and even the Northeast. The customer base consists of Dietary Supplement producers and Contract Manufacturers who make premix solutions for customers within the food, beverage and dietary supplement industries. In this role, you will be responsible for acquiring new business opportunities at new and existing customers for the Dietary Supplements segment in North America in order to drive organic growth in Human Nutrition. You will also be responsible for understanding market trends and customer needs and apply this knowledge to key customer targets. Ideally, you will have a strong market and consumer focus and will be able to translate this perspective into clear business strategies.

Formula for Success
Leveraging your educational background in a technical discipline and your professional experience in nutrition, food and beverages or dietary supplements, you will develop and maintain customer relationships, evaluate business opportunities, develop specific customer value propositions and plans for implementation, and sell commodity vitamins and value-added solutions.
Capitalizing on your nutrition industry experience and network to provide your pre-mixers, you will provide contract manufacturers and brand owners valuable insight to solve their most difficult challenges.
Your strong selling skills, including lead identification and follow-up, ability to close, negotiation, and project management will be a valued asset as you contribute to the regional sales plan, develop and implement account strategies to achieve sales and growth targets, and negotiate customer contracts.
Successfully engaging across the organization, you will interact with key decision-makers to ensure sales activities in the region are fully communicated through site/visit reports, documentation, and account plans.
Your ability to develop an account / project plan and coordinate efforts with internal colleagues around the world as a key contributor to our global success will be critical as you provide a blend of regional account and global key account management services for your customers and internal stakeholders.
You will enjoy balancing strategic thinking along with tactical execution to drive territory growth.
Your ability to juggle many different priorities successfully will be essential as you manage tactical duties which include developing account plans, pre-call planning with all involved stakeholders, call reports, monthly updates, price management, sales forecasting, contract management, opportunity development and movement, new product launch presentations and collecting market intelligence for the global team.
Your high level of curiosity will serve you well as you understand market needs, capture market, customer, competitive and regulatory trends and work with the organization to find solutions that exceed your customers' expectations.
