The Admissions Recruitment Specialist provides centralized project management and data analysis for the Admissions unit within the School of Medicine. This position works closely with the School's leadership in the recruitment of quality applicants, management of the admissions portal, management of applicant screening provides oversight of the interview season and oversight of post-selection processing for all programs, including Davis PRIME programs, MD/PhD program, etc. Additionally, this individual will be responsible outreach efforts focused on helping to produce a physician workforce that reflects the diversity of the State of California and achieving educational and clinical standards of cultural and linguistic competence that ultimately will reduce health disparities and provide the best care for all patients.Required-Experience in developing presentations and information for outreach and recruitment.-Advanced knowledge and experience working with a diverse student population.-Advanced and comprehensive knowledge of academic programs, including curricula, admissions requirements, and financial aid information, etc. related to the School of Medicine.-Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.-Working knowledge of policies on discrimination and issues that URM's face in higher education.-Experience in the use of but not limited to: Microsoft Office Suite, Internet and web-based applications/databases.Preferred-Assessment skills to learn complex School of Medicine and Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) admission practices, processes, and procedures.-Experience and skills interpreting policies, procedures, and guidelines.-Admissions portal/database experience.-Working knowledge of Health Disparities in medicine.-Working knowledge of socially economically disadvantaged and URM pipeline programs.-Knowledge in the field of diversity, particularly, in relation to groups in an academic health center environment (faculty, residents, medical students, and premedical students) as well as local diverse communities.SPECIAL REQUIREMENT-Must be able to work variable schedule including evenings and weekend.-Must be able to travel locally, regionally and nationally as needed.-THIS POSITION MAY BE SUBJECT TO A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION, DRUG SCREEN, LIVE SCAN FINGERPRINTING, MEDICAL EVALUATION CLEARANCE, AND FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY ASSESSMENT
