This Senior Clinical Systems Analyst (Clinical Applications Professional 4) position supports the clinical information technology that the Departmental Systems team supports throughout the UC Davis Health System. Under limited direction, this position is responsible for analysis, design, implementation, maintenance and high-level technical support of assigned clinical systems and clinical applications. This position will exercise initiative, originality and judgment in applying established principles and practices to new and unusual problems. Provides advanced level server, hardware, software and network support to UCDHS staff and faculty in the hospital departments and clinics, implementing and supporting specialized, complex distributed clinical information systems and multiple complex ancillary/patient care systems. Aligns assigned departmental technical solutions with UCDHS IT Division goals, guidelines and directives.REQUIRED-High level knowledge of the total computer environment including hardware, operating system software and application software with respect to technologies appropriate to the healthcare industry. -Skill, knowledge, and ability to consistently, effectively, and efficiently perform technical support of complex distributed information systems with minimal direction. -Extensive experience with one or more Server 'based Operating Systems.-Experience with Network Attached Storage (NAS), Storage Area Network (SAN) and other network data storage solutions.-Experience supporting one or more Database technologies and associated architectures.-Knowledge of state-of-the-art network systems, using various hardware platforms and integration of multiple third party software solutions, in a large network environment, with several remote computing interfaces, Knowledge of standard computing network configurations and hardware including routers, hubs, repeaters, network interface cards, Ethernet, fiber-optics, LAN software, and diagnostic hardware and software.-Analytical skills to effectively comprehend complex network, administrative and fiscal information; and ability to absorb such information to make timely and thoughtful decisions and make recommendations, and communicate same in writing and verballyPREFERRED-Experience working independently, while encouraging collaboration with departmental subject matter experts, other IT staff and vendors. Displays judgment required knowing when to escalate resolution of a critical production problem.-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to express ideas assertively, clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.-Experience setting up and maintaining documentation in an understandable and usable form, readily accessible to others.-Knowledge of data privacy procedures and regulations and ability to deal with highly confidential patient health information, security and financial matters.-Experienced in project management within a Healthcare environment.-Experience leading information system projects in a healthcare environment.-Excellent analytical skills to develop and/or comprehend complex technical, statistical, clinical research and fiscal information-Experience working in a clinical environment. -Hands-on experiences with, but not limited to one or more of the following clinical systems is beneficial; Apollo Advance, Agility, Audiology Maestro, Grasp, MacLabIT, Scottcare Holter, Pyxis, MUSE, ISCV, Syngo Dynamics, NOAH, NicoletOne Review, Easy III, Xltek, Vmax PFT, Hospitality Suite (Dietary) and Food Processor.SPECIAL REQUIREMENT-Available to work extended hours, weekends or evenings to meet critical deadlines and support mission critical clinical systems. -Available for 24-hour a day on-call rotation. May require working in clinical and patient care areas.
