The University of California, Riverside (UCR) Extension Center is the continuing and professional education division of the campus offering over 80 programs and certificates to domestic and international students.
Under the Extension umbrella, is the Department of International Education Programs (IEP), one of the largest and most successful international programs in the USA. Each year, IEP welcomes over 4,000 international students from over 40 countries. UCR has been offering high-quality programs since 1975, including a multiple-level ESL program, TESOL programs, academic pathways programs, concurrent enrollment, post-graduate diplomas/certificates, and custom-designed programs for short-term groups of visiting students and professionals.
Under the general supervision of the Director of Custom Programs, the Custom Programs Manager designs, manages, and administers short-term and custom academic programs for university and professional learners from around the world. The manager has functional oversight for program management, strategic planning, and local and international partnership management. In consultation with the Director, the manager has general oversight for curriculum development and planning of custom programs and their special activities and services. The manager provides program-related student advising needs, including addressing student conduct issues and liaising with foreign escorts as required. The manager oversees scheduling, day-to-day operations and details of program implementation as well as general oversight of instructors and staff, support and development. In consultation with the Director, the position also has responsibilities for international marketing and recruitment and contract negotiations with international partners, including budget management.
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training
4 - 7 years of related experience.
3 years of progressively responsible administrative experience with a university-level program.
Advanced degree in business/management or another closely related field.
Minimum of 2 years leading and/or supervising the work of others.
Valid Drivers License.
