The main focus of this position is to provide specialized technical support to the Comparative Pathology Core. As a research specialist, the employee is expected to support the mission of the CPC, a shared resource within the Abramson Cancer Center. The recent expansion of services and work volume of the CPC requires highly skilled and organized team members. In this role, the employee will maintain and expand the following services (1) immunostaining for molecular labeling utilizing the Bond RX platform for immunohistochemistry, multiplex immunofluorescence and in situ hybridization; (2) Digital pathology and whole slide advanced image analysis utilizing the Aperio VERSA and eSlide Manager system. Additional responsibilities for the CPC may include assisting in detailed mouse phenotyping studies. The employee will also be integral in creating and maintaining quality control/quality assessment protocols and standard operating procedures for CPC activities. The employee is expected to be responsible for the day to day operations and act as the contact person of these services, with oversight from the CPC technical director.
