Middle School Technology Teacher Columbia Grammar and Prep School seeks an outstanding, self-motivated and creative Technology Teacher who will help develop an expanding technology curriculum in our Middle School (Grades 5-7). This person will be responsible for teaching weekly technology classes with a focus on coding, robotics, hardware hacking, digital design, design thinking, as well as other core and emerging technologies. She or he should have a passion for working with children and a solid understanding of children's social, emotional, and academic developmental stages. This person will work in our newly designed Innovation Lab and also work closely with teachers from our other STEAM focused subject areas.
Develop and teach technology courses at the middle school level.
Provide faculty, students, and staff with guidance and support using educational technology.
Collaborate with faculty in other departments to explore opportunities for interdisciplinary projects.

Desired Skills and Interests
Familiarity or interest in some or all of the following: Codding, Scratch, Vex Robotics, making, Arduino or other hardware platforms.
Knowledgeable about Digital Citizenship curriculum.
Passion for encouraging young people to take on complex and challenging ideas.
Experience teaching students in a classroom setting and an adept skill at classroom management.
Intellectual curiosity, an aptitude for learning, and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
A demonstrated ability to innovate, problem solve and create original curriculum.
Experience with troubleshooting basic hardware and software issues relevant to classroom technology and STEM education.
