The Kentucky Transportation Center (KTC) enjoys a strong national reputation in selected, high-priority areas of research and technology transfer. KTC researchers are widely known for their subject matter expertise, group facilitation skills, effective communications, and project management skills. The field of transportation research requires both engineers and other transportation-related professionals depending on the research topic program areas. The goals of the unit and its strategic plan require a multi-disciplinary mission-oriented professional. Therefore, the Transportation Center is seeking an Engineering Associate III.
The Engineering Associate III will work on a major project or several projects of moderate scope with complex features. Applies practices of research project management, including stakeholder analysis and risk assessment. Assisting upper level management and staff as a technical specialist or advisor by applying extensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices in broad areas of assignment are a major part of the role. In addition, the Engineer III will prepare proposals to provide research services and obtain funding for projects. Reviews and approves project scopes, budgets, and schedules for project assignments.
