Asset Quality Review (AQR) is an independent key control function with high importance in the regulatory environment. AQR is set up globally with main locations in Frankfurt, Berlin and New York. The team consists of credit professionals with broad and diverse sets of skills and experiences. AQR offers the opportunity to gain experience in manifold credit areas.
In conducting reviews, AQR assesses the credit ratings assigned by responsible credit officers. The reviews also consist of an evaluation of consistent application of rating systems, portfolio quality, credit standards and quality of risk management. Reports are directed to both the global Group Risk Committee as well as the U.S.-based Management Risk Committee as well as key stakeholders in Senior Management.
The position is within the US team with focus on Deutsche Bank's US operations including the following portfolios: Leveraged and Structured Finance, Commercial Real Estate, Wealth Management, Securitization, Hedge Funds, and Corporates and Financial Institutions.
Lead/participate in numerous asset quality reviews assessing individual exposures within a portfolio / models / ratings as well as credit process elements regarding the portfolios mentioned above
Focus will be on the assessment of individual credit exposures and the corresponding internal risk ratings and regulatory classification (if applicable), as well as credit process elements
As review team leader, you will be expected to co-ordinate the review team, review and opine on all team members' work assuring completeness and accuracy, provide concise updates to senior AQR leadership, and create and present the review's final reports to Senior Management
Provide guidance on Commercial Real Estate technical knowledge and skills to team members to enable them to effectively deliver their assigned contributions for a review
Participation in CRM's watch-list/portfolio meetings
Challenge / review portfolio analyses or conduct own portfolio analyses
Act as a liaison with management members and colleagues within various Risk departments, Finance and partially Business
Opportunities to participate in other AQR Offices' reviews thus potentially covering other business areas and/or in projects
Professional and Personal Qualifications:
Graduate, at least undergraduate degree, in a business related field
Sound work with previous relevant experience either from the banking industry, rating agencies, regulatory entities or public accounting firms or some combination thereof
Strong knowledge of credit risk analysis (including assessment of complex customer groups, structures and products), rating approaches and related processes, and sound analytical skills
Solid team player and good communicator
Good time management skills: ability to meet firm deadlines, flexibility to deal with various responsibilities
Computer proficiency and statistical skills; knowledge of data base applications with an affinity to working with data / system related topics
Excellent writing and presentation skills (i.e. to present data clearly and effectively)
