Kent State University at Tuscarawas is seeking candidates for a Tenure-Track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the field of 2D and 3D modeling, animation and game design.

A tenure-track appointment carries with it the expectations of teaching excellence, professional development activities, research/creative activity leading to publication, and campus and community service. Faculty members are expected to pursue external funding to support their research and/or creative activity.

The program is offered in full at the Kent, Tuscarawas and Stark campuses, and has dedicated computer and virtual reality (vr) labs including a vr/finishing studio, and a newly renovated motion-capture lab. The position offers opportunities for collaborative, interdisciplinary projects in game design and development, digital media, audio, special effects, virtual reality and story development in emerging media.
A Masters in a related field, and three years of relevant professional and/or teaching experience is required. Proficiency in any of the various animation-related design software applications such as Maya, 3DS Max, Blender, Zbrush, Houdini, Motion Builder, Toon Boom, Poser, Cinema 4D should be reflected in the portfolio. The successful candidate will be familiar with industry trends.
Candidates whose creative projects/research and teaching in areas specific to animation are of particular interest.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:
Light work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.
