The Account Executive is responsible for maintaining and cultivating existing and new customers relationships. Responsibilities include making sure such customers are satisfied with our service and products including order fulfillment, customer support, communications, product quality and their overall experience with our company.
The Account Executive needs experience in managing a wide range of business areas including, but not limited to project management, customer relationships, product training, and cross functional team participation...THIS IS NOT A SALES POSITION.
4-years experience in the commercial hardware industry
Ability to cross reference exit, closer, lock and general hardware products to competing brands including: Schlage, Von Durpin, LCN, Sargent, Dorma Kaba Hager and others
Familiar with various levels of keying terminology: Change, Construction, Master and Grand Master
Understands door prep terminology including face bore prep, backset, edge bore, and strike configurations
Previous use of web based ERP/CRM software
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Product training experience
Outstanding written and oral communication skills
Some experience reading technical drawings
Modest amount of travel to tradeshows and meeting with clients (less 10% of time)
Flexibility to work after 5:00 PM to participate in overseas planning meetings
OEM clients requiring specific products designed for them
Redistribution clients (Private Label) using our products and rebranding them under their name
Wholesale companies who wish to stock our product to distribute to their own customer base
Managing the process of proprietary products which includes project meetings with other departments (engineering/purchasing), tracking product development, recapping action steps by department, and communicating to departments and senior management.
Builds strong relationships with key employees at customer including finance, purchasing, sales, marketing and product development.
Maintains database of key contacts
Sets up new customers within the 3 segments
Coordinates with Finance on new customer set up * Finds opportunities to grow business in multiple segments by identifying needs from key accounts and following up on leads generated my sales and marketing
Manages order processing function. Makes sure orders are properly entered.
Communicates with Senior Management areas where there are performance “gaps” such as product development, customer service issues, training gaps, etc.
Communicates with other departments as needed anything relevant: Large order requirements, production lead time issues, emergency orders, etc.
Minimum 4-years experience in the commercial door hardware industry
Completed 4-year Bachelor Degree or Higher Preferred
Superior Word, Excel and PowerPoint knowledge
Public Speaking experience
