Electrical Engineering (EE), one of the largest departments in the School of Engineering, continues to define new directions and develop new technologies to help address critical societal challenges in biology and medicine, energy, and the environment. Numerous innovations by our faculty and students in electric power generation and transmission, wired and wireless communications, integrated electronics, digital computers, healthcare systems, cellular phones, and Internetbased information technology have fundamentally transformed all aspects of human life. Our staff is critical to enabling our school and department to accomplish their mission.
EE is seeking applicants for the position of Administrative Associate 4 whose primary roles will be to provide administrative and operational support for several faculty members and their research groups, and to serve as an administrative coordinator for the Allen Building. Your responsibilities include:
Providing administrative support for several EE faculty members and their research groups.
Serving as a point of contact for building coordination.
Overseeing and processing a variety of complex financial transactions including fabrication contracts, equipment agreements and program sponsorship; managing contracts, invoicing, budgeting and forecasting, along with producing, monitoring and reconciling all non-sponsored accounts for the faculty.
Maintaining equipment inventory, purchasing office and lab supplies, and obtaining vendor quotations.
Coordinating logistics and materials, and interfacing with vendors associated with conferences and various events.
Managing complex calendaring and travel arrangements.
Maintaining website content.
Composing, formatting, preparing, and distributing routine communications and materials.
To be successful in this position, you will bring:
A high school diploma and six years of administrative experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
Advanced computer skills and demonstrated experience with office software and email applications.
Proven success in following through and completing projects.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
An ability to take initiative and ownership of projects, and to exercise sound judgment in making decisions.
