We are seeking a highly motivated Clinical Subjects Coordinator to join our team. This person will be responsible for conducting recruitment and data collection activities for mental health services research projects. Professional and/or educational background in a mental health-related field is preferred.
The primary responsibilities of this Clinical Subjects Associate will be to provide subject recruitment and follow-up for two research studies:
A clinical trial to test a peer mentorship intervention for adults who have been psychiatrically hospitalized and are at high risk for suicide
A telephone survey-based study collecting treatment outcome data from Veterans who have been diagnosed with depression at the VA
Job functions include:
Review patient eligibility using health and medical information, including medical record data
Approach potential research subjects, explain research protocol, and obtain patient consent for clinical research projects
Perform phone calls to patients for screening, consent, and follow-up
Travel locally to conduct follow-up visits with participants
Participate in regular study team meetings and assist in documenting participants’ study progress for regular review by the project manager and Principal Investigators
Bachelors degree in Psychology, Public Health, Social Work, or a related field, with evidence of course work and/or clinical or research experience.
Knowledge of the mental health field is preferred.
Flexibility in schedule and reliable transportation is required, with availability for evening and weekend hours
Exemplary critical thinking and interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with exceptional attention to detail
The ideal candidate will also have working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
The successful candidate will be adept at multi-tasking, able to work independently, maintain orderly records, and seek guidance as needed.
The work schedule for this position consists of regular business hours, with flexibility required for some evening and weekend hours.
