The role is a dedicated resource to integrate the function reporting and financial modelling activities within the wider Group data strategy.
The post holder will be the function data champion, ensuring all Treasury data is centrally managed and identifying opportunities to leverage technology to derive insights.
Develop and implement the function data strategy.
Establish strong data governance and quality assessment to the function.
The role will be the interface between the treasury teams, stakeholder and the IT&S organisation. It is expected that the post holder will manage the prioritisation of opportunities on behalf of Treasury Exco.
Lead the assessment of new proposals (data) on an objective basis, ensuring that all aspects of the data/modelling request are developed on a level playing field, and assure the business case.
Establish a strong network – internal and externally – to share best practice and ensure consistency of approach with stakeholder.
Data Model & Analytics
Lead inventory of Treasury Data (data, reports, inputs/outputs) and work with IT&S to create Data Architecture for the function.
Be the function Subject Matter Expert for financial along three key requirements (1) model compliance with best practices (2) adequate rating of model against BP monitoring and audit policies, and (3) ensure model developed and stored in line with the Treasury data strategy.
Support the Head, Strategy and Risk in developing team and functional dashboard
Develop dashboard and data insights for the monitoring of the Group Financial Framework, rating agencies
Develop and implement Key Risk Indicators for the function, supported by a stable and auditable data architecture.
Support development of portfolio approach to functional risks.
Develop new process, system interface and modelling for the function GFX model
Provide advisory on the evaluation of structured solutions. Working closely with colleagues in Structured Finance (London, Houston, and Singapore) and Corporate Treasury, provide advisory support to businesses and projects on complex economic evaluation.
Provide support to the development and monitoring of the Treasury annual plan.
Develop process and platform to support the periodic reports to GFRC, MBAC, and the Group CFO.
FX & Interest Rate Hedging
Support and provide cover to the risk manager and the head of planning and policy for:
Consultancy and Advisory. Provide advice to senior finance, commercial, project management and functional staff on IR and FX risk and mitigations.
Support internal governance process for FX and IR transactions: Develop hedge recommendations and manage interface with IST Treasury Trading for market orders
Essential skills needed;
Understanding of corporate planning process obtained ideally in a commodity environment (Oil, Gas & Power, Mining)
Excellent communication skills in to engage with stakeholders at all levels
Advanced Excel skills (pivots, v-lookups, formulas) and exposure to databases
Experience with Data Analytics and visualisation
Previous roles with exposure to financial markets, treasury, risk and/or finance business
Understanding of credit rating agencies process and metrics
VBA skills (macros) and SQL experience will be highly regarded
Exposure to Derivatives / Hedging / FX / Swaps / Securitisation / Structured Finance / Corporate Finance will be highly regarded
Treasury Management System - WSS or other
Further qualifications in either Masters in Finance, CFA or Accountancy qualifications (ACCA preferred or CIMA)
Risk qualification such as FRM, PRM, ERP would be of additional benefit
