The Senior Director, Advancement Communications is responsible for ensuring that the work of the Advancement Communications team is strategically aligned with the work of the College's Office of Marketing, including core messaging, design and copywriting quality, and print production standards. Specifically responsible for directly managing the Advancement Communications and stewardship teams, and the overall strategy of the constituency communications and donor stewardship functions; creating, maintaining, and sharing an annual marketing communications plan, in collaboration with members of Advancement and Marketing; overseeing campaign communications, proposal writing, and alumni and annual fund communications; initiating and supporting communication strategies that include social media outreach, e-marketing, solicitations, and other forms of electronic and print marketing; designing, implementing, and directing an integrated and comprehensive donor relations and stewardship program that appropriately and consistently promotes interaction and connection with, and recognition of, donors at all levels; responsibility for the overall strategy of the Advancement website and the online community and for managing the overall vision/strategy for web communications inclusive of our email platform system; collaborating with the College Marketing on campus wide initiatives; and supporting and providing guidance on Centennial projects which includes Centennial initiatives inclusive of web, video and print communications.
Manage the Advancement Communications team to deliver effective messaging that supports constituent engagement and provide strategic communications and marketing support to all functions within the Advancement division.
Oversee a comprehensive communications strategy for alumni engagement, annual fund, and stewardship.
Create, update, and implement an annual integrated marketing plan that advances the goals set forth for the College's giving campaign, 2019: A Campaign for Babson's Second Century. The marketing plan and its associated communications will be designed and disseminated to further engage the Babson community (i.e., alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and students) and its friends, to create a culture of philanthropy, and to increase volunteerism, advocacy, and giving leading into and beyond the College's centennials in 2019.
Ensure that the work of the Advancement Communications team is strategically aligned with the work of the College's Office of Marketing which includes core messaging, design and copywriting quality, and print production standards.
Serve as the primary liaison and collaborator with the Office of Marketing's management team.
Direct the creation of proposals for individuals and corporations and foundations. Oversees and writes, edits, and proofreads proposals, gift opportunities descriptions, concepts papers, and other material for significant gift support at the College.
Provide practical communications support as a writer and editor, including the drafting of campaign collateral, reports, and letters.
Evaluate the quality and impact of the donor relations/stewardship program whose components include use of gifts, recognition, events, gift agreements, management of information, and privacy compliance.
Collaborate with leadership within Advancement to create strategies for developing compelling communications for the purpose of creating an energetic and enthusiastic culture of philanthropy.
Oversee a comprehensive social media outreach and interaction strategy including the use of multiple platforms in collaboration with the Office of Marketing's Associate Director of Integrated Content Strategy.
Provide ongoing leadership, support and guidance to direct reports, including participating in regular face-to-face meetings, helping set and reviewing annual goals and objectives, identifying areas of opportunity for growth, including but not limited to formal professional development activities.

Minimum of 10-15 years relevant experience with a proven track record in communications and top-notch organizational skills is a must.
Must be a strategic and detailed planner who understands the role of advancement in a higher education environment.
Must have experience managing campaign communications, creating compelling solicitations and thoughtful stewardship.
Demonstrated ability for writing for development, web, proofreading and editing skills, and design sensibility.
Knowledge of social media and digital communications and e-marketing.

Knowledge of website design practices and trends in marketing, including social networking strategies.
