Nashoba Brooks School seeks candidates for the position of Director of Strategy Development and Implementation for the 2019-2020 academic year. This position reports to the head of school and is responsible for managing the implementation of the School’s strategic priorities. The schedule for this position will be 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. during the academic year and 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. during the summer. The successful candidate will possess the desire to work in a dynamic, student-centered school committed to continuous learning and excellence in 21st century education. Serve as an active and collaborative member of the Administrative Leadership Team to maintain and enhance a positive, mission-driven and student-centered school culture.
Communicate effectively the School’s mission, philosophy, program, and core values.
Work closely with the assistant heads of school to manage successful orientation, mentor program, observations, evaluations, and professional development.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders.
Manage implementation of strategic initiatives and priorities identified to execute the School’s commitment to inspired education through Innovation, Inclusivity, and Impact.
Serve as administrator on duty during after-school programs.
Communicate and model the School’s core values of diversity, service learning, and character development.
Work closely with the human resources administrator to manage employee recruitment and retention, including management of position descriptions, postings, screening, interview processes, annual employee surveys, onboarding, and instructional coaching.
Coordinate planning of year-long and summer reading themes including links with professional development days, speakers, and management of the professional development budget.
Work closely with the head of school to coordinate leadership teams including Inclusivity Leadership Team, Service Learning Leadership Team, School Safety Team, and Strategy Team.
In conjunction with the assistant heads of school and the student support team, plan and facilitate a comprehensive program for parent education and partnership.
Coordinate accreditation processes and documentation, including preparation for the 5-year visit.
Work with the assistant heads to plan and guide innovative curriculum deep dives.
Support the head of school in managing communication, visibility, and effective implementation of strategic goals and priorities.
Support initiatives to enhance a positive School culture (e.g., participation on assembly committee, ad hoc task forces, leadership teams, etc.).
Optimistic outlook and demonstrated skill in creative problem solving.
A proven track record as a positive, effective, and inspiring leader of students, parents, and teachers.
Demonstrated flexibility and the willingness to contribute to the School community.
A proven track record of efficient project management with the ability to initiate and complete multiple tasks, independently or collaboratively, as required.
Master’s degree required.
A minimum of five years’ experience in teaching and administration in an innovative and fast-paced educational setting.
