Where the Chemistry Happens
We are seeking a professional like you to execute large capital investment projects throughout North America. As the Project Manager you will be the focal point of responsibility, authority, and accountability of these capital investments. You will be accountable for the efforts required to execute capital projects in the range of $20-75M during the entire project life cycle. You will also have indirect supervision of a project team of $20-70 M BASF and Contractor personnel, translating the objectives of the project into targets for each of the project team leads. Additionally, you will be responsible for communicating the project status, concerns, and recommended corrective actions to the project stakeholders, typically executive level individuals.

Formula for Success
Leveraging your educational background in an Engineering discipline preferably Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, as well as your extensive professional experience in Project Management, you will be accountable for planning and coordinating work process and budget as well as coaching a project team to achieve project targets.
Your strong ability to identify the root cause of conflict and minimize the impact to the project team, will allow you to motivate the people that indirectly report to you as well as negotiate terms and conditions of the project regarding the overall engineering activities.
Your proven successful track record of executing capital projects greater than $20 MM, and managing an engineering contract >$2MM as a project owner provides the experience needed to develop and implement a plan for continuous improvement of project execution.
Your ability to understand and manage customer expectations allows you to develop execution and contracting strategies to effectively meet objectives.
Your strong ability to influence project stakeholders will allow you to effectively communicate to executives of project status, project risks and coordinate decisions on countermeasures to mitigate risks or capitalize on opportunities.
You will champion the scope development process to ensure completeness of basic engineering and look for opportunities for added value through application of Value Improving Practices.
As you identify areas of development for team members and assist them with overcoming obstacles, you will ensure compliance with all BASF policies, procedures and technical standards.
