TECHNOLOGY LICENSING OFFICER-SOFTWARE AND IT , Technlogy Licensing Office (TLO) , to implement and lead commercialization strategies for modern computational, machine learning, and AI technologies from across a range of disciplines; and help translate faculty and scientists' ingenuity and ideas through marketing and licensing to third parties who further develop technologies for impact in the world, including licenses to startup companies Responsibilities include developing and managing a vast intellectual property portfolio, assessing/evaluating new technologies, developing and implementing strategies for marketing and licensing of these technologies to commercialization partners, negotiating a license and other relevant agreements, and supporting post-license activity.
REQUIRED : bachelor's degree (advanced degree preferred) in electrical engineering, computer science, physics, or related area; at least seven years' relevant experience in a commercial role involving software product development and commercialization or business development in an applied field such as enterprise software, e-health, robotics, telecom, or related technical area; ability to communicate with a range of people including faculty, students, industry executives, entrepreneurs, attorneys, and venture capitalists; exceptional verbal and written communication skills; fluency in English; track record of negotiation; ability to grasp and diagnose complex business, technical, interpersonal, and interorganizational issues and work concurrent issues through to completion; self-motivation; and ability to juggle many assignments simultaneously while working within a tight-knit team. Solid knowledge of the software business development life cycle for either the robotics, data tech, cyber, AI, digital health, mobile, or networking communications industries desirable. Job #16182-R
