Black Diamond Equine Veterinary Clinic is seeking a like-minded, experienced, part-time associate veterinarian to join our fantastic team. We are located in sunny Central Oregon, and we like to enjoy our personal lives, just as much as we enjoy our high-quality work and service that we provide. There is potential for full time work, if desired, as the practice grows.
Black Diamond Equine was created in 2017, and offers comprehensive sports medicine and preventative care services to all horses, but primarily equine athletes. Services and equipment we provide include digital radiology, ultrasound, IRAP, PRP, basic surgery, medicine, wellness care, dentistry and chiropractic. There is minimal to no after hours on call work at this time. We are planning to add endoscopy and shock wave therapy this spring. The ideal candidate would be a team player, who desires to build relationships with clients in the Central Oregon equine community, and who will practice quality medicine with honesty and integrity. Ideally, the candidate’s interests would help to expand the services that we currently provide.
Our practice treats a diversity of equine athletes, including horses used for western performance, dressage, hunter jumpers, endurance, and recreational pursuits. Redmond is a beautiful area in the high desert of Central Oregon. Recreational opportunities within minutes are endless. Black Diamond’s name may have reference to our ski resort, Mt. Bachelor.
We operate out of a beautiful newly-constructed clinic building with a 2,880 sq ft footprint, containing a 1440 sq foot indoor temperature-controlled area. There is a padded surgery room, stall for hospitalized cases, stocks, and open working area within. There are three outdoor runs, along with a lameness workup area. We left plenty of room on the property to expand when needed! Appointments are approximately 50/50 in house vs ambulatory. There are 1-2 well trained technicians per doctor and a receptionist in the clinic office.
Compensation includes a potential base salary dependent on experience and desired schedule, with Pro-Sal production. Other potential benefits include matching 401K, uniform allowance, practice vehicle, cell phone, PTO, AAEP dues. We value quality of life and family, and working schedules can be creative and flexible.
Applicant must be eligible to take the boards in Oregon, or have an Oregon License. It is required to have completed an internship or have 5 years of equine experience. To apply, please send cover letter and CV to email@example.com. We look forward to speaking with you!
