The Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) invites applications and nominations for the position of Senior Project Manager. This is a renewable, full-time, non-tenured, administrative position and reports to the Workday Director. The position may be located in Reno or Las Vegas. The NSHE is comprised of eight institutions: two universities, a state college, four community colleges and a research institute. The public system of higher education in Nevada continues to experience growth with significant opportunities in serving over 105,000 students and 12,000 employees.
The Senior Project Manager position to support various project management needs and responsibilities for the Workday team and System Computing Center. The Project Manager oversees activities, resources, risks, and schedule variables for programs and projects related to SCS initiatives. Under the direction of the Workday director, the Senior Project Manager will plan, organize, direct, and supervise overall management of multiple, complex technology-based business projects to ensure thorough articulation of project scope and control of expectations, deliverables, outcomes, issues, costs, risks, needs and constraints involved to achieve optimal stakeholder satisfaction.
SALARY GRADE: D (starting salary range approximately $80,000 - $120,000 and benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, life and retirement.)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field AND eight (8) years’ experience providing information technology services, which includes three (3) years as Project Manager, Program Manager, and/or Project Lead; OR, Twelve (12) years’ experience providing information technology services, which includes three (3) years as Project Manager, Program Manager, and/or Project Lead; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Certification from recognized programs that indicate mastery of tools and techniques relevant to the assignment may be recognized as experience.
Certification from Project Management Institute (PMP) preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties of this position will include, but not be limited to, the following areas of responsibility:
Manages the day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of multiple or large-scale projects through complete task definition and work requirement identification and mapping.
Oversees managers and contract resources working on engagements within practice.
Reviews high-level deliverables across projects for adherence to budget, time and resource requirements; identifies out of scope and/or other obstacles to successful achievement of objective(s).
Implements engagement review and quality assurance procedures in accordance with established methodology to ensure profitable and successful execution of engagements as measured by goals and customer satisfaction.
Manages to and achieves goals set for projects.
Recommends strategies and develops technical specifications for large technical projects; coordinates all aspects of planning, production, implementation and evaluation of complex technology development efforts.
Manages the development of project teams by ensuring that project tasks are in line with each Innovator's career interests; determines appropriate human resource skill mix requirement for optimal efficiency and effectiveness.
Evaluates and recommends improvements and additions to project management methods, tools, and techniques used by the SCS teams. Develops templates and documentation for project management methods based on industry best practices.
Continually seeks and capitalizes upon opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen relationships.
