Scope of Role
CFSI is currently seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Special Assistant to the President who is passionate about gaining insight into leading a high-performing, high-impact nonprofit organization. In this role, you’ll provide a high level of project and administrative support to CFSI’s President. Successful execution of this position requires strategic thinking, talent for project management, a keen attention to detail, excellent technology skills, strong verbal and written communication abilities, effective time management strength, and the flexibility to work as part of a high-functioning administrative team. The ideal candidate will bring a customer-service and problem solving mentality to this role, both anticipating needs before they arise and responding rapidly when they are surfaced.
The Special Assistant to the President will help keep the President on track by staying five steps ahead, anticipating how to prioritize precious time, and facilitating important connections to people within and outside the organization. The Special Assistant will be a welcoming “front door” for people, internally and externally, who want to connect with the President. The position will offer a chance to engage directly with high level executives and will play a critical role in supporting external projects and relationships.
This position is part of CFSI’s admin team, led by the Senior Operations Manager. The ideal candidate will take initiative to improve administrative processes in order to enable innovation. We are particularly interested in candidates who are looking for professional growth opportunities within the organization, career changers, and those interested in learning how to lead a nonprofit organization.
Duties and Responsibilities
Gather information from key internal stakeholders prior to meetings and synthesize in an easy to digest format, take notes, and assist with post-meeting follow-up.
Collaborate with other team members to prepare decks and other visual aids for keynotes, speeches, and other external presentations.
Manage and coordinate the calendar of CFSI’s President. Help strategically prioritize the President’s calendar based on an understanding about what is critical and/or urgent across various internal and external priorities. Manage scheduling, travel and expenses.
Support the President in event planning and management.
Conduct content related research on behalf of the President and other senior leadership.
Identify and drive key opportunities for engagement with the Board of Directors.
Support other members of the Leadership Team as needed.
Collaborate with other members of the Shared Services team on other duties, as assigned.
Ideal candidates will have a demonstrated commitment to CFSl's mission and the needs of underserved populations
A minimum of 2 to 3 years of work experience in a fast-paced organization
Superior organizational and project management skills with strong attention to detail, ability to manage many moving parts, and excellent follow-through
Customer-service orientation toward external and internal partners alike and a demonstrated level of confident and focused written and verbal communication skills, conveying credibility and authenticity
High degree of flexibility with an ability to work in an innovative, fast-paced environment and readily embrace change
Ability to anticipate needs to successfully support a dynamic individual
Solutions-driven mentality with the ability to handle ambiguous and changing situations
Collaborative, with strong relationship building skills and the executive presence to manage important relationships
Expert with G-Suite and Microsoft Office and a high degree of comfort with technology
