The Enterprise Systems Programmer Analyst will report to the Director of Enterprise Information Systems and will be responsible for application programming and systems analysis. This position will be an onsite technical resource for the development, modification, analysis, and implementation of the administrative computer application, Ellucian Colleague Student (including Registration, Billing, and Financial Aid), and the many sub-systems that fall under or interact with that system.
Analyze, review and make recommendations to user requirements, procedures and programs to increase operating efficiency, adapt to new requirements, and resolve processing issues. Consult with user to identify current operating procedures, clarify program objectives, specific program problems, and input/output requirements.
Evaluate, define, identify and analyze problems and opportunities for improvement with existing information systems, as well as user requests for new or modified functions or programs that require computer-oriented solutions, such as new forms, reports, and screens within the ERP.
Complete actual development of system or changes from above design. Manage the development and ongoing support of the solution throughout the application development lifecycle, including testing, deployment and maintenance.
Remain up-to-date on emerging technology solutions in the ERP and associated technologies. Conduct on-going review of application systems and programs in order to meet the changing needs of administrative functions and expectations.
Be an integral resource in Ellucian Colleague major release conversions and UI client (self-service) application implementation, support and maintenance.
Write and update all project documentation, including internal documentation related to development/support and training/instruction materials for functional user training.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field AND 3+ years as a programmer analyst in a higher education environment OR the equivalent combination of experience and years
Experience as an analyst and developer in a student information system, preferably Ellucian Colleague
Experience working with a transactional mobile application, preferably Ellucian Mobile
Experience designing applications using the available applications tool kit
Solid knowledge of SQL and understanding of relational databases
Experience with at least one object oriented programming language, such as Java, C#, C++
Basic functional knowledge of registration, student accounts, and/or financial aid and related procedures to aid in understanding of technical needs
Experience with the Ellucian Colleague student, registration, billing, and/or financial aid modules
Highly accurate with meticulous attention to detail
Excellent problem solving capabilities
