Summary / Definition: Under the supervision of the Associate Vice President for University Marketing and Recruitment, the Director of Digital Advertising and Data Analytics is responsible for planning, budgeting, executing, monitoring, evaluating and reporting on paid advertising initiatives related to heightening awareness of the University and generating enrollment in furtherance of its strategic objectives. This individual is directly responsible for oversight of paid advertising in digital and online media channels and works in conjunction with the Director of Integrated Advertising, who focuses on paid advertising via traditional channels.
The Director of Digital Advertising and Data Analytics is also a liaison between the Marketing Department and University clients, collaborating with all academic and administrative units to identify and support their digital advertising needs. This person also is the primary contact at the University for its digital media agency, which assists in planning and placement of digital advertising and provides ongoing assessment of advertising campaign performance against institutional objectives and goals.
In addition to the above duties, the Director of Digital Advertising may also be responsible for digital marketing and advertising, digital media research, strategic and tactical planning and execution, organic search and SEM, campaign tracking and management, detailed and ongoing data collection and analysis, developing and presenting regular reports, making recommendations based on assessment of performance, vendor relations and management, market forecasting, campaign testing, budget and financial management, development of creative assets, trafficking digital creativity, recordkeeping and similar administrative functions, supervisory functions, client relations, and staying abreast of paid digital media best practices and trends.
Other responsibilities as assigned include, select administrative and operational functions of the Marketing Department as a business unit of the University, preparing and maintaining calendars, schedules and budgets for digital advertising campaigns, soliciting quotations and accepting competitive bids from approved media outlets, generating requisitions and initiating purchase orders, process invoices, prepare status reports, staying alert for risks and resolving issues as they arise. This person also will identify new vendors as needed and secure institutional approval for their engagement as required.
Education: Graduation from an accredited university with a bachelor's degree supplemented by a master's degree in a field related to the area of assignment or equivalence as determined by the appointing authority.
Experience: Three years of professional experience that is directly related to the functions of the position to be filled or equivalence as determined by the appointing authority.
