Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Project Manager for the Department of Physics and Astronomy. This position manages the operation and maintenance of the Materials Synthesis Laboratory at Rutgers Center for Emergent Materials.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Prepares materials for the production of high quality specimens, including single crystal growth.
Maintains various instruments in Materials Synthesis Laboratory at the Rutger Center for Emergent materials, including about thirty furnaces.
Educates young researchers, including graduate students and postdocs, on materials synthesis techniques.
Prepares scientific papers, researches materials physics, and creates scientific discoveries and outputs.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a scientific field, with an extensive experience on material synthesis, especially singe crystal growth with various methods.
A minimum of five years of relevant experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Understands the scientific reasons for the synthesis of particular materials
Excellent time management, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Ph.D. on the study of new materials or corresponding experience preferred
Knowledge on magnetic and transport properties
Thirty furnaces for materials synthesis
