Partnering with the Editor in Chief and working within the Dean's Office, the Project Manager is responsible for day-to-day operations, people management, and ongoing content maintenance of the Public Health Post. Public Health Post, a new BUSPH Dean's initiative that launched in late Fall 2016, aspires to elevate the national conversation on public health by integrating the various factors that contribute to the health of populations into one web space. The project manager will be responsible for managing the Public Health Post web space, PublicHealthPost.org, and will manage three fellows, who will help create content for the web space.
Oversee daily operations of Public Health Post:
Develop and implement strategy for PHP operations
Oversee advertising and selection of fellows who will comprise a team providing content for the website
Manage and supervise team of fellows generating content and part time students
Schedule and conduct regular team meetings
Manage PublicHealthPost.org Website:
Coordinate the up-to-date content organization and maintenance of the Public Health Post website
Supervise uploading of content, edit user submissions, and review and troubleshoot website daily
Manage relationship with host and other vendors
Respond to email inquiries
Writing independently, generate new content for PublicHealthPost.org; write three to five 300-word pieces per week; gather and present evidence to present opposing views.
Aggregate relevant news articles from third-party resources, resulting in 1-2 external content pieces per each day of the week
Coordinate with SPH offices of Education, Research , and Communications to stay up-to-date on internal articles from SPH faculty
Tracking analytics such as website traffic overall and by topic
Develop/supervise additional programming
Other duties as assigned
Master's degree and 5-8 years' experience required.
