Cabrini University’s Department of Communication seeks an Assistant Professor of Communication to grow its Digital Communication and Social Media major. Applicants should possess significant professional experience in digital marketing communications, as well as teaching experience in a higher education environment. This position requires digital media expertise, professional social media proficiency, and a commitment to working in an integrated and converged manner with faculty colleagues in the Communication Department and across the School of Business, Arts and Media. Interest and experience in communicating for social justice is especially valued.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach digital marketing communication and social media courses at the undergraduate level, as well as coordinate and teach in the department’s post-baccalaureate online certificate program in Integrated Social Media. The teaching load is 12 credit hours (normally 4 courses) per semester or the equivalent. Advising undergraduate and certificate students is required. Expectations for all Cabrini faculty include teaching excellence, scholarship and professional activities, curriculum development, student advising, and departmental and college-wide service.
This position is within a department that responds quickly to new trends and is a leader among small colleges and universities in curriculum development. Therefore, the person best suited for this position is a generalist with a broad range of skills and a demonstrated record of leadership in digital and social media practice.

Qualifications/Experience Required • Master’s degree is required at a minimum; PhD in a communication-related field is preferred • Experience teaching courses in digital and social media, as well as integrated marketing communication • Demonstrated ability to design, develop, implement and measure digital media campaigns; experience with data analytics is a must • Track record of designing, developing and delivering online teaching and assessment • Commitment to working collaboratively and collegially with colleagues in support of the department’s and university’s goals • Clear research agenda in a digital communication field of expertise
