This part-time position is responsible for providing administrative support to the Director of Development in carrying out all aspects of fundraising and programmatic activities for the Selected Educational Trust. These responsibilities include the areas of donor cultivation, stewardship research, database management, scholarships, networking, educational programs, relationship-building, sponsorships, program and special events management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
General correspondence including acknowledgment letters, program announcements, and appeal letters. Assists with marketing, mailings, prospect research, agenda preparation, reporting, budget preparation, meetings/event/program planning, preparation and execution. Also assists with fundraising activities including donor, prospect and sponsor research, solicitation, and stewardship. Responds to donor and prospect queries and requests. Works with Selected staff as necessary.
Database and Website Activities
Management of FrontStream giving platforms including BiddingForGood, GiftWorks, FirstGiving, and Artez. Gift entry, tracking, reporting and data maintenance. Enter, track, update donor and prospect records, sponsorships, pledges, contributions, engagement activities. Website maintenance including management of web content for consistency, accuracy, updates, and revisions.
Board of Trustees
Assists with quarterly Board teleconference meetings as well as other meetings of the Board as necessary including agenda preparation and execution, taking meeting minutes, board roster preparation and revision, general correspondence, and any administrative assistance required by the Trustees directly.
Assists with the preparation and execution of all special and programmatic events including those conducted at Selected’s Annual Meeting such as the Welcome Celebration, VIP Reception, Silent Auction, special Board meetings, sponsor gatherings, donor recognition, and other events as assigned.
Assists with program management including scholarship programs, job fairs, job postings, Mortuary Science Student Roster, research grant data management, community-service projects and all related tasks including correspondence, reporting, application preparation, evaluation, etc.
5% to 10% travel, as needed.
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
Typing: 60 wpm
Working knowledge of Excel, WORD, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Experience in database management – GiftWorks preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication and customer-service skills.
Strong project management, attention to detail and proofreading abilities.
Able to balance team and individual responsibilities, contributes to building a positive team spirit.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university preferred; three to four years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Salary Information: 20 to 25 hours a week. Flexible schedule.
