The Department of Acadmic Technologies is seeking an SRS Product Manager. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), 12-month, fixed term professional faculty position. Reappointment is at the discretion of the Associate Director.

As a unit within Information Services at Oregon State University, Academic Technology shares and supports the University's mission by building and maintaining a technology ecosystem at OSU that enables scholarship, learning, and community engagement by students, faculty and staff in an environment where innovation and academic excellence thrive. Academic Technology includes classroom design and maintenance including the Learning Innovation Center, media and events infrastructure, management of the Learn@OregonState digital ecosystem, and faculty engagement with technology. There are approximately 34 professional faculty and classified employees in Academic Technology, as well as 30 FTE student positions. Academic Technology administers a total budget of $5+ million. Providing services to the students, faculty and staff on the main campus, branch campus, and satellite centers and institutes, Academic Technology assists the university community by investing and supporting instructional and media technology to enable educational innovation while enhancing a collaborative and engaged learning environment.
The Product Manager is part of a team called Learning Platform Services that provides operational support for Learn@OregonState, OSU's integrated learning ecosystem for credit, professional, extension and open education. Product managers' portfolios include one or more systems; their job is to advocate for the faculty, students, staff and community members who use the system, understanding their needs and representing their interests. This position is responsible for OSU's enterprise student response system (SRS). The Student Response System Product Manager gathers quantitative and qualitative information from the user base to identify needs, resolve issues, and to leverage the platform effectively. Based on feedback and analysis, this position recommends solutions for improvement and optimization, and manages the associated projects to implement then. This position requires a deep knowledge of instructional technology and the elements involved with classroom polling (student mobile apps and devices; instructor platform; learning management system integration and grade synching; classroom network and display performance), as well as pedagogical considerations.
In addition to managing the SRS service, the SRS Product Manager collaborates with the learning management system Product Manager to provide faculty support (Canvas) and the integrated media platform (Kaltura), and serves as a lead for the team's campus-wide training and support initiatives on instructional technology.
This position provides managerial and professional support to assure that services are effectively and appropriately delivered to meet the diverse and dynamic needs of Oregon State University. The successful candidate can expect to join a mutually supportive team that collaborates extensively with campus partners both within and outside of Information and Technology, and will advocate for content and services that support diversity, inclusion and social justice.
Typically requires Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field. Experience leading Experience leading IT projects in a complex organization.
BA or BS degree computer science, business administration, marketing, communication, education, or related field OR 3-5 years' experience leading instructional technology services
Demonstrated success contributing to and/or leading instructional technology support and delivery initiatives
Demonstrated ability to achieve objectives and resolve issues via listening and communication skills
Demonstrated effectiveness in technical and instructional writing
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq.
