Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Program Manager for International Education and Training Programs for the Rutgers Global Health Institute (RGHI). This position develops and helps manage education opportunities in global health for the new partnership. This position is an exciting opportunity for an education management professional to participate in developing distance and on-site education and training efforts to address health care inequities in developing country settings. The position reports to the Henry Rutgers Professor and Director of Global Health.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Participates in strategic planning and other processes to deﬁne education and training priorities that elevate the multidisciplinary strengths, the clinical expertise and the diversity of global health activity at Rutgers.
Maintains up to date knowledge about medical science or public health, including emerging trends and challenges, and become well informed of Rutgers expertise in research, medical care and education activities in global health and related ﬁelds.
Creates distance learning and training opportunities for Rutgers international partners and programs.
Identiﬁes opportunities, facilitates the creation of proposals, convenes topic-focused faculty and community working groups, and interact with key institutions, agencies, and potential funders.
Serves as a grant writer for certain projects, establishing objectives, methodology, evaluation, and budgets for projects, seeing proposals through from application to completion.
Pursues proposals that advance Rutgers as a strategic global health partner, where education and training programs create knowledge, inform policy and program development, improve health and enables capacity building in human resources for healthcare in developing countries.
Minimum Education and Experience:
A Bachelor's degree in education, training or health related ﬁelds, with knowledge of public health or educational programs in developing countries.
A minimum of ﬁve years of experience and/or increasing responsibility in project management, grant writing and securing funding from external organizations.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
A self-starting training or public health professional with the ability to motivate teams and initiate new projects
Must have strong skills in planning, budgeting, organizing, and managing programs
Excellent communications and writing skills
Ability to guide teams or work with partners to set and achieve clear goals and results.
Excellent research/ computer skill
Advanced degree in education, training or health related ﬁelds, with knowledge of public health or educational and training programs in developing countries.
