As head of Fred Hutch's Content Team, the Director of Content Strategy is tasked with driving an integrated content strategy that informs, inspires and engages Fred Hutch's key audiences locally and nationally. This includes ensuring that storytelling and content development accrue to higher-level department and organizational goals, and the Hutch's overarching brand strategy.
Reporting to the Vice President of Communications & Marketing, you will think like a marketer while acting like an editor-in-chief and collaborate across functions and departments to develop captivating content campaigns based on insights into the Hutch's diverse audiences, brand, and strategic and scientific priorities. You will provide editorial guidance and drive the overarching vision for content across Hutch-owned channels, print and digital publications, as well as materials supporting marketing, media relations, employee and executive communications, and donor communications. You will champion innovative, integrated content opportunities that drive awareness and engagement among audiences that include scientific peers, patients and families, philanthropic donors, industry and health care delivery partners, and policymakers. You will work to expand Fred Hutch's digital footprint and enhance brand experiences across existing and new channels and platforms. Working closely with colleagues on the Communications, Marketing and Design/User Experience teams, as well as with other administrative departments and scientific divisions, you will also guide the development of strategically aligned content reflecting a consistent Fred Hutch voice and apply data insights to improve discoverability and engagement with Fred Hutch content.

Although Fred Hutchinson opened its doors in 1975, its history began about 20 years before that. In 1962 Fred Hutchinson envisioned a center devoted to studying cancer, a disease that took his brother’s life. Today Fred Hutchinson is contributing to the next waves of breakthrough treatments and prevention strategies.
