Oversees day-to-day digital content development and production;
Edits and distributes daily news summary;
Helps draft and edit NMPF content, including news releases and newsletters;
Oversees day-to-day social media activities (primarily Facebook & Twitter);
Assists in interaction with media and maintains distribution lists;
Also assists in development and production of brochures, reports, annual meeting materials and other communications resources;
Manages relationships with other associations and communications vendors;
Collaborates with coworkers on planning for board and annual meetings.
Hands-on involvement with managing programs geared toward younger members of organization.
Bachelor’s degree in journalism or communications, or equivalent experience, with one to three years of related work experience, i.e. at a trade association, media organization, government agency or Capitol Hill office. An interest in public policy is necessary, interest in rural and agricultural issues a plus. Position requires:
Superior writing and editing skills; can work independently and take the initiative to identify initiatives for NMPF’s digital platforms, including websites and social media channels;
Creativity combined with ability to multi-task;
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite; ability to use Drupal, WordPress, Constant Contact and other publishing programs a big plus;
Basic photography, video and graphic-design skills, and ability to use skills and tools to create digital content.
Additional Salary Information: Negotiable depending on experience
