SUMMARY We are currently working with an entrepreneurial, privately held design / build Engineering / Construction Company in Butler County to identify an experienced Estimator. The goal of this company is to hire a person who wants to be in a cost estimator role full time, and will act as a project manager as needed.

The Estimator will provide cost estimating on a variety of project types, including commercial construction, healthcare, data centers, etc. with a heavy emphasis on MEP estimating. Candidates must be able to prepare estimates in the hard bid, design / build, and negotiated terms processes. Responsibilities to include: • Preparing detailed accurate estimates at schematic, design development, and construction document levels of design. • Developing material take-offs and labor / equipment pricing for self-performed work. • Reviewing and validating subcontractor bids and proposed schedules. • Presenting estimates to management and clients. • Reviewing basic software-generated estimates for completion and technical accuracy ensuring quality and integrity. • Leading the job buyout and subcontract negotiation processes. • Sage Timberline estimating software.
REQUIREMENTS • 5 or more years’ experience in commercial construction. • Ability to present a credible, confident, positive image of oneself and the company during oral presentations to clients, designers and others. • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with clients, designers, subcontractors and other personnel when necessary to perform one’s job responsibilities. • Capable of addressing difficult issues with problem-solving techniques and solutions. • Be able to effectively use various computer programs, including but not limited to Excel, Word, Microsoft Project, Adobe Acrobat and Sage 100. • Familiarity with providing estimates in CSI form. • Ability to manage several complex issues concurrently. • Experience in data centers and high reliability facilities, with an understanding of their specialized MEP system is a plus. • Must be able to pass a pre-employment national criminal background check and drug screen.
