The purpose of the Systems Analyst position is to provide solutions for business processes, employing the latest technology, the most efficient process for the institution, determining the solution that will actually accomplish the business area's true needs and protecting the institution's data assets. The steps needed to do this are: analyze and document the current business process, solicit and define solutions, record process descriptions, define possible solutions, identify business risks and mitigation, estimate costs, identify resources, recommend and justify solutions. Once the project is approved, the systems analyst position then turns to one of creating specification documents that must contain language understood by both the functional users and the technical resources, managing project resources (both internal and external), providing regular updates to project stakeholders and sponsors, identifying issues with appropriate solutions and guiding the project to a successful, timely and under budget implementation. This position is the link between functional areas (interpreting their needs resulting in an ITS-supported solution) and technical areas (constantly learning new technologies to support ITS' role within the institution). This is a 12 month, full time position.
Essential Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities
Analyze and convert detailed business processes into system requirements
Manage internal and external resources during project life cycle
Manage and update project documentation, including but not limited to: business case, project request form, project charter, project closure, lessons learned and project status report.
Communicate (e-mail, meetings, documents) project status to all project stakeholders
Participate in the maintenance of the following possible enterprise applications: PeopleSoft CSS, HCM, FMS, Canvas, SharePoint, OnBase, AgilonOne, Agresso, TMA, Adobe AEM and any newly implemented enterprise application.
Coordinate the testing of any major maintenance or production fix for the following applications: PeopleSoft CSS, HCM, FMS, Canvas, SharePoint, OnBase, AgilonOne, Agresso, TMA, Adobe AEM and any newly implemented enterprise application.
Communicate with application system vendors to report program bugs, request for feature enhancements and track progress of all incidents
Maintains a current knowledge of data processing and systems analysis methodology
Enforces security and data standards base on Information Technology Services and industry standards / best practices
Knowledge, Skills or Abilities
Technical knowledge associated with the current technologies being leveraged by the ERP and 3rd party applications implemented at BGSU. This includes web programming languages, relational and object oriented database techniques, web and data network communications protocols, application and data security protocols.
Basic Project Management practices and methodologies
Skills and abilities to transform transactional data into sound end-user information
Salary 12 Month, Full-time, Administrative staff position available. Administrative Grade Level I56. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Full benefit package available.

Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Computer Science or Management Information Systems or related field. Successful candidate must have Bachelor’s degree conferred at the time of application.
The following experience is also required:
3-4 years of experience working within an application Software development life cycle
3-4 years of experience working on ITS related projects.
