The Addictions Coordinator is an administrative coordinator role, with half-time clinical duties at our Bronx facility. The Addictions Coordinator will work with Callen-Lorde’s medical, nursing, care coordination and behavioral health providers and management teams to ensure seamless workflows, high-quality care delivery, and sustainable substance use programming. They will provide interdisciplinary staff training on topics related to work with LGBTQ patients with substance use needs, develop partnerships with external agencies including substance use treatment facilities, and work with health information technology, patient experience and compliance departments re addictions services.
This is a full-time, 5-day-per-week position including some evening hours. Master’s degree in Social Work and NYS licensure as an LMSW or LCSW
Certification as a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) in New York State
Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and in project management
Experience working in a New York State Article 28, 31 and/or integrated outpatient practice setting preferred
Personal Characteristics, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of LGBT- and HIV-related health/mental health issues and concerns
Computer literacy required
The ability to maintain on-going documentation in an electronic health record
Ability to work with diverse populations, ability to handle multiple, simultaneous tasks.
Ability to work independently but yet be team focused
Ability to remain calm, focused, and helpful under stress
