The Physical Security Operations Project Manager will be responsible for supporting a national client by managing their security camera, access control and technology program as well as managing security staff at multiple sites across the country. The candidate will apply their knowledge of security operations and security technology to support and execute overall project tasks to achieve customer goals, including oversight, management, and participation in the execution of the field assessment, design, and maintenance of security systems. The candidate will also be the primary manager for physical security operations where security personnel are used in conjunction with or in place of technology. The Physical Security Operations Project Manager reports directly to the Vice President of Operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Attend and lead meetings with clients, contractors, and other project team members as part of the security team
Manage a team of security supervisors in performance of facility security functions at multiple sites
Define recommended solutions and alternatives for mitigation measures identified to support an enhanced client security posture
Develop, research, and define appropriate solutions, processes, and technologies to provide the required level(s) of mitigation as outlined in the master service agreement with the client
Develop tracking mechanisms to ensure that security equipment is serviced as outlined in the master service agreement with the client
Build and maintain reports and performance metrics to present to the client
Develop security program-level organization, processes and procedures, and standards as needed
Troubleshoot and correct camera system issues to ability level
Design, develop and implement post orders, standards, policies and procedures as needed
Assess existing training and implement new training procedures and processes for staff members at all levels of the operation
Candidate must be proficient at managing multiple project priorities and client relationships, maintaining good written records of conversations and decisions, managing personal and staff time to achieve project and internal goals and timelines, and providing required information to management to document job performance.
Manage and maintain all cell phones for all assigned personnel and security sites, including management
This positions is responsible for the supervision of the Operations (manned guarding and security technology) and all temporary assistants provided to the Operations Department.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Bachelors or Associate degree, preferably in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Business Management or similar:
· Five or more years' experience in a security management environment
· Senior level knowledge of security technologies, equipment and applications
· Ability to manage and mentor staff as well as manage clients, projects, budgets and schedules effectively
· Basic working knowledge and ability to configure camera system software (IP-based video systems)
· Basic working knowledge of network administration, camera systems maintenance, and video management system platforms
· Able to be part of a larger team to support business objectives nationally
· Ability to travel (estimated at 40-60%) to meet client and project needs
· High degree of familiarity with physical security policies, procedures, and regulations (such as FSMA, CFATS, MTSA, etc.)
· Must have effective time management, communication, technical writing, presentation development, facilitation, and organizational skills
· Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to pass a background check
· Proficiency with standard MS Office Suite, laptop computers, and/or related tools is required
· CPP, PSP, CSC or similar industry certification preferred
Education and/or Experience
Education: Bachelor’s or Associate degree preferably in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Business Management or similar
Experience: Minimum of five years experience in Operations and Security
Must have exceptional language skills to read and interpret documents such as security logs, timesheets, business correspondence and other standard documents. In addition, must have a high level of skill to create written correspondence in a professional manner.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
In addition to the ability to learn any new software needed, this position is required to have knowledge of the following:
Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Other certificates, licenses or registrations may be required in the future
Other Skills and Abilities
Good knowledge of physical security technologies and systems, broad knowledge and experience performing facility assessments, evaluating risk, recommending security program modifications and re-alignments, developing processes and procedures for security program and related disciplines.
Ability to deliver an excellent level or customer service, strong organizational skills, multi-tasking, strong verbal and written communication skills, and highly self motivated.
Ability to pass drug test and criminal background check.
