Associate Director, Underwriting and Corporate Sponsorship WERS
Description: Connect clients, underwriters and supporters with members and the community through WERS' content and experiences. This position is directly responsible for raising funds from programming underwriters of WERS. The continuous goal is to identify and close new business opportunities through developing and implementing strategies to ensure growth based on market and client needs while ensuring proper execution of billing, copy and collections. Supervisory Responsibilities - None at this time, but hopeful staff growth over the next two to five years to have additional Account Executives reporting to this position.

Required Knowledge: 3+ years of sales experience Familiarity with public radio Self-starter Strong sense of ethical standards and the value of public service media Willingness to build a department from the ground up Strong interpersonal and communication skills written and verbal with internal and external audiences, including writing and public speaking Advanced analytical skills, collaboration, and project management skills Proven ability to effectively articulate clear and compelling messages Strong organizational and time management skills; must meet deadlines Excellent organizational, planning, tracking and follow-up skills, plus attention to detail Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and limited resources Ability to handle confidential and proprietary information with discretion Ability to create and maintain good working relationships with a variety of diverse individuals Ability to travel locally and out of state as required
Preferred/Desirable Knowledge: Familiarity with the Boston Market, specifically within the public radio sector Experience with sales for public radio Be familiar with the interests, demographics, buying habits and other relevant information about the public radio audience Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience Familiarity with Visual Traffic/Marketron traffic software
