The Manager of Volunteers is responsible for managing and executing all aspects of Lakeview Pantry’s volunteer program. This includes designing, planning, and directing a volunteer program to augment the services of the regular staff, as well as the recruitment program to attract new volunteers. This position oversees the recruiting, interviewing, training, and integrating of volunteer workers. In addition, the Manager of Volunteer will work closely with corporations interested in partnering with the Pantry for team volunteer outings and opportunities.
As our organization continues to grow recruitment will be a major focus of this position. Just recently, we unveiled a new five-year strategic plan aimed at increasing access for food insecure Chicagoans, especially working families and seniors. This ambitious expansion of both the area and scope of our services will ensure all of our vulnerable neighbors find the programming they need to survive and thrive. In order to accomplish our strategic goals, our programming and resources must be in-line with our clients’ needs. One of our most valuable resources is our volunteer base. With a corps of over 4,000 volunteers, Lakeview Pantry is reliant upon our volunteers to operate our food acquisition and distribution programs at several physical sites and through home delivery.
