Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey is seeking a Student Assistant (Research Interventionist) for the department of Health Behavior, Society and Policy at the School of Public Health. Under the direction of the Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator, the Student Assistant (Research Interventionist) is responsible for the provision of behavioral alcohol use disorder therapy to study participants. This position is 100% grant-funded and located in New Brunswick, NJ.
Maintains knowledge regarding the content of the Project MATCH cognitive behavioral therapy or motivational enhancement therapy.
Proficient in the delivery of the Project MATCH cognitive behavior therapy or motivational enhancement therapy.
Responsible for the scheduling of study participant (and collateral) therapy sessions.
Responsible for enhancing study participant session attendance (e.g., flexible scheduling and reminder phone calls).
Maintains and updates study participant (and collateral) contact information.
Attends regularly scheduled supervision sessions and maintains interventionist skill proficiency.
Submits purchase recommendations to the Project Co-Investigator.
Ensures that study equipment is maintained and in good working order.
Ensures therapy sessions are digitally recorded, provided participant consent has been given.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Currently enrolled as a Rutgers student.
Master’s Degree in a relevant clinical science or currently enrolled in a clinical doctoral program (e.g., psychology, counseling, social work).
Prior clinical experience, especially with alcohol use disorder clients, is preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
May be required to lift or exert force up to 25 pounds.
