Sarasota Orchestra currently has a job opening for a Director of Donor Engagement – Annual Fund. As part of the self-directed Donor Engagement Team, the successful candidate will help set strategies and engage and solicit individuals for the Annual Fund, lead annual appeal campaigns, manage a portfolio of donors, and participate in fundraising events to develop relationships with constituencies. You will work with the Donor Engagement Team to establish objectives and set goals in a culture that cares deeply about stewardship and working as part of a team of development professionals. Liaison with Director of Strategic Initiatives and Campaign Director on campaign related strategies as it pertains to Annual Fund.
Responsibilities for this position include the following:
Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward a portfolio of individual donors to secure Annual Fund and Special Event gifts
Develop the Annual Fund strategy in partnership with Director of Strategic Initiatives
Manage donor benefit levels and collateral materials related to the annual appeal, with input from President/CEO and Donor Engagement team
Strategically use the Tessitura database to facilitate a successful annual appeal and membership program
Secure new donors and increase contributions from renewing donors to assist in achieving the overall objectives of the organization
Meet objectives and budget goals for the Annual Fund and work with team to develop strategies to attain them
Participate in donor cultivation and stewardship at concerts, special events, receptions and outside events
Use and maintain donor database by recording donor notes and updating personal portfolio of donors
Collaborate with Development Operations Manager to develop the departmental processes and guidelines for using Tessitura; Key areas of focus include gift entry, moves management, reporting and promotions
Monitor and analyze Annual Fund donations using Tessitura reports and dashboards
Create and update donor listings for program books (Masterworks, Sarasota Music Festival, Youth Orchestra Showcase), sponsorship boards and Sarasota Orchestra website
Collaborate with all departments to ensure proper donor/sponsor acknowledgement including print, web, and electronic materials and collateral
Qualifications include the following:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field
3+ years fundraising experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
