Reporting to the Director of Editorial Strategy, the social media coordinator is responsible for creating and maintaining content for HGSE's primary social media channels, conducting social listening, and injecting HGSE content and thought leadership into targeted social channels and conversations.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Share existing editorial and marketing content as appropriate on HGSE's social media accounts.
Develop social-only content—either new or from existing materials—for sharing on social media. These materials may be text, audio, or video.
Monitor HGSE social accounts for opportunities to engage key audiences.
Monitor social media chatter for opportunities to provide HGSE thought leadership and guidance.
Monitor social media channels and cultivate relationships with education reporters and key dissemination channels for media placement opportunities and collaboration.
Establish, implement, and maintain processes, guidelines, and schedules to ensure content remains up-to-date and is continually refreshed on HGSE social properties
Monitor and report on content performance, to keep faculty and stakeholders informed and to ensure continuous improvement
Ensure consistency and excellence in social content quality by documenting and enforcing best practices
Edit and oversee light video editing and live streaming needs of HGSE
Ensure optimal use of Salesforce/Social Studio content management system and social media management tools
Work under the direction of the content strategy team to update and review content editorial calendar for social media channels
Work closely with colleagues at other schools and at the university to ensure that HGSE content is appropriately shared through other digital channels at the university.
Consult with faculty, departments, and programs on the development of their digital communications approaches
Envision, create, and implement digital initiatives and innovative content dissemination approaches that grow HGSE's social audience and deepen audience engagement
Provide leadership and guidance for HGSE offices that are using social media to promote their work and messages.

Bachelor's degree in journalism, English, digital media communications, marketing, education, or related field
Demonstrated experience and expertise with social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
Experience and expertise with photo and video editing tools, such as Adobe PhotoShop, Final Cut, or Adobe Premiere, as well as social-only tools for GIFs, etc.
2+ years of relevant experience preferred
Experience with social media management and reporting tools, familiarity with Salesforce Social Studio a plus
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, work independently and in collaboration with team members, and oversee work of others
Strong visual communication skills
Strong analytical and technical skills, project and management skills, and communication skills, creative, innovative thinker, action-oriented, versatile, ability to adapt in dynamic environment, resourceful and honest
