Supports faculty, staff and students in online, hybrid and web-based teaching and learning. Provides instructional content design incorporating academic pedagogical principles and learning-enhanced technologies for online and online hybrid implementation in support of academic and professional programs in University College.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with design and development of online and online/hybrid courses
Partner with University College instructors and staff in the design and development of instructional content for online and online/hybrid courses, analyzing learning needs and outcomes, building content modules and creating interactive media content in various learning systems and platforms using a variety of software applications, in a manner consistent with pedagogical best practices
Collaborate with instructors to transition existing classroom-based content to an online delivery format
Ensure course design and course materials meet accessibility standards; provide accessibility training and assistance for instructors
Manage multiple design projects concurrently; create project plans, manage timelines, and coordinate with team members and partners to
meet project deliverables
Participate in course evaluation/assessment process to ensure quality guidelines and desired learning outcomes are being met; make recommendations to develop a wide variety of learning assessment instruments
Assist/Support online teaching and learning strategy development
Research and recommend new and emerging technologies, instructional design theories and models and their potential application to instructional opportunities; design and produce learning materials regarding trends, to support teaching, learning and University College needs
Lead projects to develop innovative uses of technology for research, student learning and/or community building
Design, develop, and deliver workshops and training to inform faculty and staff on pedagogical applications and effective use and integration of technology tools for online and blended delivery
Participate in accreditation activities related to online programs
Promote online learning and facilitate online course delivery
Serve as the primary point of contact for content for the University College online learning resources and support website pages
Assist in development of online resources for faculty and students
Collaborate with SME’s and information technology staff to resolve issues related to technology use in teaching, including application assessment, pedagogy, deployment methodologies, and integration strategies
Represent University College in campus wide and state and national discussions and initiatives focused on online learning
Perform other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s Degree in educational technology, instructional design, instructional technology, curriculum design, or other related discipline and 3 years of professional experience designing, developing, and managing online, blended, and/or other technology-mediated instruction; or Master’s degree in related field and 1 years of professional experience developing, and managing online, blended, and/or other technology-mediated instruction.
Master’s Degree in related discipline.
Three years of progressively responsible experience in course design and development, faculty training, or program/course assessment evaluation.
Experience in project management.
Familiarity with video and digital production.
Experience with Canvas LMS.
Individual must have a thorough knowledge of functional area and instructional design principles and learning strategies, and knowledge of information technology.
Possess strong analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations; be highly collaborative with excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
Exceptional project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines with varying degrees of pressure; have the ability to multi-task, prioritize, work independently and collaboratively, and make decisions.

This position is full-time and works approximately 37.5 hours per week.
The hiring range for this position is $51,909 - $67,470 annually.
