The Graphic Designer works with the Student Affairs Marketing team to design and produce marketing materials in accordance with University branding standards for a variety of print and digital media. This person will:
Oversee the production and execution of highly creative solutions for print, digital, and multimedia marketing campaigns.
Manage production schedule for multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.
Develop positive working relationships with departmental staff to create and refine marketing content.
Provide outstanding customer service to internal clients and external vendors.
Ensure all materials comply with University branding standards and copyright laws.
Hire, train, and supervise student employees; advise staff and student committees.
Minimum Experience / Education:
Four year degree in Visual Arts or high school and four years of visual/graphic arts experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities needed in the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
Minimum three years of professional work experience combined with a four-year degree in design, marketing, or visual communication (or equivalent work experience), ideally in a higher education environment.
Passion and enthusiasm for creativity and graphic design.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign), photography, video editing, and other design-related software packages in a Mac environment.
Technical knowledge related to visual art principles and print/digital production such as file size and formats, image resolution, prepress, color theory, typography, and composition.
Strong writing, proofreading, project management, organization and interpersonal skills.
Understanding of social media and multimedia techniques.
Experience supervising and/or working with students in a higher education environment.
Commitment to customer service, diversity, and teamwork.
