The Department of Arts, Culture and Media, School of Arts and Sciences-Newark, Rutgers University-Newark (RU-N) seeks candidates for a full-time, non-tenure track, Associate Professor of Professional Practice to begin July 1, 2019. The successful candidate will have particular strength in visual affective cultures and digital humanities. A commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching is essential and teaching experience at the college level is required. Working with the Clement A. Price Institute of Ethnicity, Culture, and the Modern Experience (Price Institute) the position will work across RU-N, extending humanities methodologies in various projects; coordinating and collaborating with faculty on curriculum, productions, publications, and other initiatives; forging and coordinating partnerships; and working to secure external funding for the Price Institute. The successful candidate should have an advanced degree in a field in the humanities and experience in the public humanities or a related field with demonstrated ability in successfully managing projects and securing external funding. This position is for three years, renewable subject to a continuing need for the position, availability of funding, and a positive formal evaluation.
