Reporting to the Assistant Director for Web Content and Development in the Marketing & Strategy office at Harvard's Division of Continuing Education (DCE), this role focuses on developing and maintaining content for the division, as well as School-specific initiatives. In partnership with the Assistant Director, the Digital Content Producer is expected to play a critical role in achieving ambitious DCE-wide growth goals. The position requires a thorough understanding of the Harvard Extension School, Harvard Summer School, and Harvard Professional Development brands, students, and other key stakeholders. DCE will rely on this person to collaborate with marketing team members and outside vendors on creating and updating digital content, in keeping with user experience best practices, search engine optimization (SEO) techniques, marketing objectives, and messaging priorities.
Manages day-to-day web content maintenance and ensures website changes and additions are published in a timely and accurate fashion
Coordinates the production of marketing and informational web content (including text, multimedia, and photography)
Proposes video, feature article, and other online content ideas; will draft and edit posts and liaise with a team of outside writers and producers
Maintains editorial schedules and serves as project manager for several print and web projects, including optimization and production of landing pages
Edits text for style, consistency, clarity, and substance and helps maintain the division's editorial stylebook
Conducts and implements keyword research for search engine optimization purposes and performs organic traffic analysis and reports on progress to the marketing team
Coordinates process of soliciting user feedback on sections of the website several times a year
Draws upon tools such as heat map software and search engine analytics software to inform web design and content ideas; shares information with content team
Conducts content audits and maintains inventories using SiteImprove reports, Google Search Console tools, etc., to ensure content and functionality is current and accurate
Collaborates on the development and refinement of CMS (Drupal) content types, taxonomies, and digital assets, including photography and video
The Division of Continuing Education (DCE) comprises several entities including the Harvard Extension School, the Harvard Summer School, the Harvard Professional Development Programs and the Harvard Institute for Learning in Retirement. For more than a century, Harvard Extension School has made Harvard faculty and teaching accessible to a diverse community of local, national, and international students. Harvard Extension School enrolls approximately 13,000 students per year in approximately 65 liberal arts and professional fields. More than 650 open enrollment online and classroom courses are offered at affordable prices to our communities across the world. Harvard Summer School offers approximately 300 courses on the Harvard Campus to 6,000 secondary school, college and adult learners and more than 30 international study abroad programs for up to 600 students each summer. The Division also includes the Harvard Institute for Learning in Retirement with approximately 550 active members and Harvard Professional Development Programs offering about 60 two-day, noncredit courses annually.

BA/BS required along with minimum of five years of progressive experience in a business or marketing role.
The successful candidate will have experience in marketing, digital media and production, web editing, or communications.
Demonstrated competency using technology including but not limited to a CMS like Drupal, Google Docs, Word, Excel, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, etc.) and social marketing tools.
