Videographer - School of Continuing Studies (SCS)
The Videographer will support online course development at the School of Continuing Studies (SCS). S/he shoot footage and complete editing, including motion graphics and animation. The videographer will accomplish the bulk of the technical tasks related to production and post-production. S/he will transport, set up, and operate equipment; and assist with staging, set preparation and dressing. The videographer will work closely with instructional designers, graphic designers, subject matter experts, and faculty directors to execute the concept through to completion.
Additional responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Determines what camera equipment is necessary and requests or obtains the required equipment from university resources.
Transport, set up, and operate various production equipment including cameras, audio, and video recorders, lighting equipment, props, and microphones for location and studio production.
Operates and maintains proper levels and calibration of cameras, audio and video recorders, and other production equipment.
Collects b-roll footage of content necessary to support the design and development of online courses.
Supports the online team throughout the production process, which may include preparing interview subjects, editing graphics, and recommending audio tracks
Helps to sustain and guide the creative process.
Assists in developing interview questions and storyboards
Uses project management tools (i.e. Asana) to document the status of projects.
Perform routine video and audio equipment maintenance.
Bachelor's degree in Radio/TV, Film, Fine Arts or related area
Five years of experience operating video cameras and editing equipment
Knowledge of the entire Adobe Creative Cloud with a particular expertise in After Effects, Premiere, and Photoshop. Able to create tailored motion graphics and animation
An exceptional eye for graphic design
A solid understanding of various compression formats, 4K, and multi-format video recording workflow; and a basic understanding of audio and lighting techniques
Ability to understand content and to use creativity to present educational content effectively
Strong research, audio editing skills and good communication skills
Excellent vision for editing that enhances videos' messages and improves the viewer experience
Excellent project management skills
