This position is responsible for coordinating the effective operation of the Ronald McDonald House. Managers are responsible for supporting the needs of families during the overnight hours promoting an atmosphere of warmth and support. Managers on the overnight hours also ensuring contracted staff are completing duties as expected and greets families, visitors and vendors.
Work schedule is expected to be:
Tuesday 10 pm - Wednesday 8 am
Wednesday 10 pm - Thursday 8 am
Thursday 10 pm - Friday 8 am
Friday 10 pm - Saturday 8 am
Essential Job Functions
Execute defined policies and procedures for the program managed.
Act as liaison to hospitals to process referrals/reservations. Explain/clarify program policies and procedures to guests and referring partners.
Welcome guest families, complete check in paperwork, and provide tours/orientation to the House.
Provide and assist families with information, directing them to resources, activities or services.
Perform regular rounds to maintain relationships with families and identify support and/or maintenance needs.
Coordinate overall daily strategy for use of available rooms, with intention of providing service to as many families as possible.
Assist with statistics for program by inputting daily occupancy records.
Track guest donations and occupancy rates for monthly reporting purposes.
Respond as necessary to emergency situations such as facility related issues, medical emergencies for guests and/or conflicts requiring law enforcement.
Encourage adherence to programs guidelines and coordinate a solution when violations occur.
Complete Incident Reports in a timely matter and inform staff members of any unusual incidents.
Coordinate general supply ordering and purchasing for the house inclusive of donated and paid items, and handle reconciliation of invoices and monthly general statements.
Management of contractor relationships and daily accountabilities for security, overnight cleaning and outside laundry services.
Coordinate contracted services for appliance repairs and maintain a site-wide inventory.
Lead data entry for volunteer hours (individual and group) and prepare analysis of trends.
Coordinate preventative maintenance projects and tracking as applicable to service provider
Distribute surveys to assess guest satisfaction,
Engage and enroll volunteers to execute essential house support functions such as meal provision, guest welcome and housekeeping.
Work in partnership with Chapter Volunteer Services Manager to ensure updated web-based calendar, menu procurement, acknowledgment, necessary supply inventory.
Organize and execute all onsite digital signage, communicating welcome, meals and activities for the guests.
Be knowledgeable of the program location security system and features (ie. Key card access system, camera system, facility related shut off valves, etc.).
Education and Experience – An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.
Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, business administration, non-profit management, or related field.
2 years of relevant experience in program preferred.

Must be a self-starter with the ability to multitask and function effectively under pressure.
Ability to think proactively and respond appropriately.
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, employees, and the general public; ability to represent the charity effectively both verbally and in written form.
Experience managing multiple projects concurrently, demonstrating a sense of urgency, results orientated and meets deadlines
Effective communication, writing and grammar skills, paying great attention to detail.
Proficient with computer database, word processing and publishing programs. Experience using Raiser’s Edge software helpful.
