The Project Manager plays a key role in ensuring a profitable, safe, high quality project. The primary function of this position is to efficiently and economically schedule and coordinate the labor, material and equipment.
There are five key elements to accomplish this:
•Communicate clearly, professionally and frequently with the customer always looking for ways to meet or exceed their expectations; especially in the areas of scheduling, coordination, quality and safety.
•Procuring material and rental equipment at the lowest possible cost; within the budget and making sure that it is ready when needed by the field crews.
•Scheduling labor for the project as required to get the job done while staying within the labor budget.
•Ensuring that internal jobsite walks are done on a regular basis with reports filed looking for both safety and quality issues.
•Actively participating in the project review meetings providing feedback to Estimating, Field Operations and the General Manager of the department about what went right / wrong on the projects both internally and externally.
1.Education: Bachelor’s degree preferably in construction management or engineering.
2.Experience: Must have 5 years of construction experience managing multiple projects.
3.Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Advanced knowledge of the construction trade. Must have the ability to read and interpret technical specifications and blueprints. Good communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with GCs, Owners, Architects, Designers, and other project team members. Good time management and project organization skills are essential. Solid computer skills including Excel, Word and CAD are required.
4.Mental: Requires ability to perform calculations, analyze reports, and engage in strategic and creative problem solving. Language requirements are reading, writing, spelling in English with an ability to perform well under stressful conditions.
5.Physical: Walking, climbing, stooping, reaching, lifting, and bending may be required. Must be able to lift and/ or move up to 50 pounds. Also, the employee may be frequently exposed to wet, hot and/or humid conditions, rough terrain, fumes, fertilizers, fumigants, airborne particles, and noise level reaching high decibels at jobsites.
