Pay Range: $53,075 or higher depending on experience and education

Position Summary: The Technical Services Librarian is responsible for overseeing the technical services operations of the Law Library, including acquisitions, processing, serials, electronic resources management, and metadata and cataloging services. The position is responsible for the efficient management and work processes of the technical services staff. This librarian will provide leadership in the Law Library by working collaboratively with the University Library and the Law Library's library consortium. The Technical Services Librarian consults on collection development policies and decisions, and participates in Law Library committees and in discussions and decision-making regarding library programs, services, operations, facilities, and policies. This librarian will engage in appropriate professional organizations. The position is under the direct supervision and general direction of the Law Library Director.
Masters degree in library or information science from ALA-accredited graduate school or equivalent Demonstrated knowledge of concepts, principles, and practices in library technical services Demonstrated knowledge of or experience with integrated library systems, resource discovery tools, link resolvers, and proxy authentication systems Demonstrated knowledge of or experience with metadata tools, bibliographic data, cataloging standards, and quality control, in both print and digital environments
Demonstrated employment history, or job skills, that shows knowledge of types and uses of legal materials and experience with bibliographic access to legal information Work experience in an academic, research, or law library Supervisory experience Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
