Advertised Summary Job Description: The Director for Enterprise Epic Learning is a member of the Epic Enterprise leadership team and will provide executive and strategic oversight for the education activities related to Epic build, implementation, go-live, adoption and optimization. This position oversees the coordination and implementation of all aspects of education programs including planning, organizing, staffing, leading, and evaluating programs. Reporting to ColumbiaDoctors' Chief Medical Information Officer, the individual will be part of a consortium team with colleagues at affiliated institutions, consisting of project managers, analysts, and developers with acute care clinical system domain expertise. This Director leads a team consisting of planners, schedulers, trainers, analysts, at-elbow support and optimization specialists, with vast training and Epic applications expertise. The position requires broad knowledge of clinical systems and education and learning theory and its application. As a Director for the Enterprise Epic initiative, this individual will collaborate with peer domain-specific directors for Enterprise Epic, as well as appropriate technical and operational leaders. The Director will serve as a role model, change agent, and facilitator while assessing learning needs in planning, implementing, and evaluating educational activities related to Enterprise Epic. The incumbent maintains exemplary professional interpersonal communication skills, collaborates well with teams, and demonstrates good customer relation skills. Regular on-call availability is required.
General Minimum Qualifications: Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus seven years of related experience.
Additional Specific Minimum Qualifications: - Significant experience with Epic and its related training modules or other enterprise clinical systems, including formal certifications are required. - Established leadership skills and a minimum of seven years in a senior management role is required. Explicit experience providing education for implementation and/or support of an enterprise clinical and financial system is required. - Excellent working knowledge of clinical systems utilized in hospitals and physician practices, project management skills, knowledge of learning management systems and virtual tools, and direct supervision and provision of leadership to staff in performing assigned functions. - Experience working with and managing technical and non-technical staff is required. Experience working with clinicians, especially physicians, is also required. - Experience working with and managing colleagues in a matrix-management model. - Must be able to demonstrate ability to achieve results in a complex environment - Excellent verbal and written communications and interpersonal skills are required. - Demonstrated proficiency with personal computers (and operating systems) including Microsoft Windows, Word, PowerPoint and Excel. - Experience with a learning management system to manage the educational/learning needs of large and diverse end-user population is extremely helpful.
Preferred Qualifications: - Advanced degree or major in Education, Healthcare, Business, or Computer Science preferred.
