Advertised Summary Job Description: The Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center of Columbia University, a clinical and population-based cancer research and patient care center, is looking to hire an Operations Manager. This position will report directly to the Director of the Office of Community Outreach and Engagement of the Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center. The Operations Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations and administration of the Office.
Responsibilities include: -Management and hiring staff that includes 3-5 community health workers -Serving as liaison for community partners -Organizing community events -Overseeing outreach registry -Partnering with the Cancer Center Communications officer to manage all communications for the Office and ensure office website pages and promotional materials are current -Partnering with the Director and Assistant Director to promote outreach and educational events and facilitate community-based research initiatives -In conjunction with the Director, oversee the activities of Office subdivisions, ensure compliance with IRB and other regulatory policy and procedure, manage grant writing activities and publications, assist with the launch of initiatives and projects to serve the Cancer Center catchment area, and serve as staff lead on management of office events, conferences, and symposia - Other duties and projects as assigned
General Minimum Qualifications: Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus four years of related experience.
Additional Specific Minimum Qualifications: - Outstanding leadership, organizational, and project management skills - Experience with building teams and partnerships, internally and externally
Preferred Qualifications: - Master's degree in public health, epidemiology, or a related science preferred - 6-8 years related work experience
